Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary (SFWS) is dedicated to the care of rescued, non-releasable wolves and wolfdogs. We do not breed, buy, sell, or trade them. They have often been rescued from dire circumstances. Many have suffered much at the hands of humans; others were simply discarded by their caretakers. We believe they deserve a stable home for the rest of their natural lives, with an abundance of loving and compassionate care.
We also support educating the public about issues involving wolves and wolfdogs, and dispelling the many myths that surround these frequently misunderstood animals. SFWS welcomes, by appointment, community organizations, groups, and individuals who wish to visit and learn the truth about wolves and wolfdogs, and why these are not rarely suitable companion animals. Please see our visiting page for more information.
SFWS has no full-time paid staff and is profoundly grateful to the kind volunteers who choose to give their time and energy to help these amazing creatures. Please see our volunteering page if you would like to become a part of our volunteer team.
Donations and sponsorships are very welcome and will be used to provide for the needs of our animals. We are a registered 501(c)(3) charity, so most donations are tax-deductible. Financial statements are available from the Treasurer upon request.
No hunting, shooting, trapping, or fishing is allowed on the privately owned land that is home to SFWS. We do not support the capture of wild animals.
